Frequently
Asked Questions:
Where
are you located?
The Stillwater Children's Museum is in the start-up and development phase,
and currently does not have a physical location. Our administrative office
is located at 1601 S. Main Street, Stillwater. You can reach us by phone
at 405-533-3333.
When will the
Museum be open?
We do not have a Grand Opening date just yet, but we are hopeful to open
the doors of the Stillwater Children's Museum in 2010. However, until
we have a permanent facility, the Stillwater Children's Museum is actively
taking the Museum to the child via our Museum Without Walls program.
What is the Museum
Without Walls and how is it a part of the Stillwater Children's Museum?
Check out our Programs and Events page to find
out about this exciting adventure.
What are your
hours?
Refer to above.
How do I become
a member?
Because the Museum has no physical location yet, it would not be ethical
to accept memberships at this time. The Museum will offer several different
levels of membership, scholarships, and passes in the future. You can
get involved today by volunteering, making a donation, providing professional
services, signing up for our newsletter and/or e-mail list, or offering
suggestions and support. .
Where can my children
go to have fun today?
Stillwater and the surrounding area provide a wide range of activities
tailored to or suitable for children. The following are just a few opportunities:
In
Stillwater:
- Pine Grove Pond:(405)
372-5157
Pine Grove Pond at Lake Carl Blackwell open for Rainbow Trout fishing.
The one and a half acre pond will initially be stocked with 500 pounds
of trout and 300 pounds will be added every two weeks until the water
begins to warm in March. A $3 daily access permit for the lake and a
$3 per-day trout permit are required. The Lakeside Convenience store
is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for purchases of permits, snacks
and supplies. Children under eight years old are not required to purchase
a trout permit and when they make that big catch the child can get his
or her photo taken free at the lakeside store. For more information
about the trout fishing opportunity at Pine Grove Pond call the lake
at 372-5157.

How will the Stillwater
Children's Museum be funded?
a great question, and we wish we had the answer. At this time, the Board
is actively pursuing several avenues for funding. Possibilities include
grants, foundations, fundraisers, corporate sponsorship, city, state,
and national appropriations, individual donations...the list is endless.
The Board is dedicated to building a Children's Museum in Stillwater,
and will exhaust every available funding path until the task is complete.
